Interested in birding with others?
New to birding, but willing to give it a try?
HRAC member Mike Bush has coordinated with Scottsdale Sonoran Desert Preserve to offer a steward lead bird walk for experienced bird watchers and newcomers alike. This is an opportunity to experience the Preserve and identify birds by sight and sound.
Walks typically cover less than 2 miles and participants are on the trails for 2 hours, stopping frequently to watch and listen to birds - it’s slow going, but rewarding! More experienced steward birders are there to help.
Grab your binoculars (and camera, if you like), bring water and snacks, dress for the weather and trails, leave your pup at home and meet us at the trailhead!
• What to bring: Binoculars, Good Hiking shoes, Water, Head cover.
• Note: Dogs or pets are not allowed for this event.
• Recommended Phone apps: Melin Bird ID by Cornell Labs and iNaturalst
